Watercolour Workshop with Chris Cornwell on The Importance of Values in Painting

January 4, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Value, the strength of a colour, is an important building block in a painting that gives depth, form and contrast. Participants will practice palette management and colour mixing prior to painting an Autumn watercolour scene. Notes and a photo will be provided for guidance. (participants are welcome to bring their own image if they wish).

Participants will need:
Watercolour paints: French Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Lemon and Sap Green.
Watercolour paper (stretched on a board if possible)
A selection of watercolour brushes of varying size. I like to start with a large mop or 1” flat to get the initial wash down quickly.
Soft pencil, tissue paper, water pot.

Members £8, Non Members £12
